PLANNED GIVING & LEGACY GIFTS
Did you know there are creative ways to support Stuart Congregational Church? Ways in which you and your loved ones all benefit at the same time?
Such giving techniques are called “planned gifts”, because with thoughtful planning, you create win-win solutions for you and the church that do not affect your income while you are living. For more information about these legacy gifts, please call the church office (772)287-5951. The material presented here is not offered as legal or tax advice.
1. Name Stuart Congregational Church in your will or living trust
2. Gifts of Retirement Plans
3. Gifts from your donor advised fund
4. Gifts of appreciated securities
5. Gifts of life insurance
6. Gifts of real estate
Qualified Charitable Distributions (IRA)
If you are 70 1/2 or older, you may contribute up to $100,000 (per person) from your IRA directly to Stuart Congregational Church. Qualified Charitable Distributions can be used to satisfy your required minimum distribution amount and excludes that amount from your gross income on your federal tax return.
Distributions must be disbursed before midnight December 31 to qualify. As always, please consult your tax advisor about the best way to support SCC in your situation or contact your financial advisor for more information.
Please note: IRA administrators frequently do not include the donor’s name on IRA distribution checks. Therefore, please alert the SCC Treasurer of the amount so that we may identify and promptly acknowledge your gift.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
